Where is the yarn produced?
Tollegno 1900 was founded in 1900 in the coastal city of Cervo in northern Italy.
At Tollegno 1900, a constant balance is maintained between production efficiency and respect for the environment, creating the basis for a circular economy, which makes sustainability, intelligent recycling and sensible recycling their strengths
With a focus on the environment, Tollegno 1900 has established over 17,000 square meters of solar panels as well as a water treatment plant that treats between 2,300 - 2,500 cubic meters of water every day that is returned to the Cervo river in accordance with all standards and which makes it possible to recycle 40% of the water.
Tollegno 1900 certificates show how much the production and processing of their yarns comply with all environmentally friendly rules.
Woolmark is a globally recognized certification applied to pure wool products that meet a number of strict quality standards set by The Woolmark Company.
The Woolmark certification requires compliance with a number of strict requirements and standards ( including animal welfare, agricultural health, environmental health (soil and ocean)) established by Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI).
Responsible Wool Standard
Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) is a guarantee that the wool comes from animal husbandry, which ensures animal welfare and is kept partly natural.
The RWS label requires sheep breeders to document that they protect the environment on the farms and nature that they promote biodiversity and provide their employees with fair working conditions.
It is not only the sheep farms that are controlled, but the entire supply chain. Both the spinning mills and the textile manufacturers throughout the production chain are continuously inspected and certified in connection with the RWS marking.
The International Oeko-Tex Association is an independent certification system for textiles, which is the world's leading health label. The certification sets requirements for the content of chemical substances that are harmful to the consumer's health.
The REACH-Regulation was introduced by the EU in 2007. The aim is to improve the protection of people and the environment against the risks posed by chemicals. REACH is responsible for the registration, evaluation, approval and restriction of chemicals.
